The Pricing/Product Specialist is responsible for the management and organization of prices in the databases in order to maintain the reliability and integrity of the information.

Assigned responsibilities

First of all, he/she will participate in the implementation of the SAP system as a Super

Price/Product User; (temporary, during the preparation and implementation of SAP)

  • Establish pricing rules in SAP based on current discounts and pricing matrices in Costar
  • Work in collaboration with the Price/Product Expert(s) to develop testing procedures
  • Execute User Acceptance tests according to the test plan;
  • Analyze test results and share them with the Price/Product Expert(s);
  • Organize periodic meetings to share project progress, challenges and concerns
  • Communicate with the Pricing/Product Expert(s) on any issues or concerns as needed;
  • Maintain the various discounts in both Costar and SAP until the full implementation of SAP.

Following the implementation of SAP;

  • Maintain pricing rules in SAP as per merchandising guidelines;
  • Execute and maintain price change requests from the sales team;
  • Ensure that price change requests respect the strategies to reach the profit margin
  • Ensure price change requests are in line with profit margin strategies;
  • Ensure pricing accuracy
  • Analyze purchasing contracts and establish pricing rules accordingly;
  • Analyze profit margins and participate in strategy development;
  • Establish projections based on projected sales and profit margins.

Hybris: 30% of the time

  • 35% Creation of pages and content (communications, alerts, banners, promotion etc.)
  • SmartEdit (Hybris) control (related to content creation)
  • 35% Search, set up (format, nomenclature, dimensions, upload), modification and update product images (tires, wheels, acc.)
  • Creation and update of product descriptions (in development)
  • <1% 2nd level technical resource (if CSR cannot resolve the situation)
  • 5% Creation and maintenance of customer groups
  • 10% Creation of training materials
  • 5% Info updates (warehouses, opening hours, etc.)
  • 10% Testing 25% of the total

  • 35% Research, set up, modification and update of tire images
  • 60% Creation and update of product descriptions (MDS)
  • 5% Creation, graphic design and update of the various discount programs manufacturers
  • <1% Display of featured products

Alliance/DRSG/OTS: 15% Content creation

  • 40% Content creation (communications, alerts, banners, promotion etc.)
  • 40% Research, set-up, modification and update of tire images
  • 10% Creation and update of product descriptions
  • 10% Creation and update for manufacturer rebate programs : 5% of the total

  • Creation, graphic design and update of manufacturer rebate programs

Costar / TireQuote: 5% of the total

  • 25% Content creation (communications, alerts, banners, promotion etc.)
  • 75% Research, implementation, modification and update of tire images

General marketing: 10% of the time

  • Research, follow-up and creation of summaries for manufacturer rebates
  • Creation of visuals for manufacturers' co-op program (Tania)
  • Creation of visuals for promotions (ex. XTRM)
  • Set up and update an image bank / information for new products

Other : 10% of the work

  • Other related tasks, training, troubleshooting, assistance, etc.


Success Factors

  • Three to five years of experience in a related and relevant field;
  • Logical thinking: organizing data in a coherent manner is one of your strengths. You understand the impact of different interventions and know what actions to take to optimize data management;
  • Thoroughness: You are meticulous and always on the lookout for the smallest detail. You like precision and you continually ensure the reliability and integrity of data;
  • Initiative: you are resourceful and autonomous. Curious, you like to stay on top of best practices and want to improve data management and organization processes to meet the needs of the company;
  • Computer expertise: you have a good knowledge and mastery of Microsoft Excel, which will be very useful in your role;
  • Experience with SAP ERP is an asset.
